Our laboratory has already shown a nycthemeral rhythm in pancreatic protein synthesis as well as in chymotrypsinogen and amylase content. However, the problem of variation in lipase activity is more complex since colipase has to be taken into account in assessing physiological lipase activity (Maylie et a/., 1971 ; Borgstr6m and Erlanson, 1971).
